Note – These details are based on the course layout previous to the renovations in 2018 and my first visit to Yarra Yarra Golf Club.
With the inaugural event of the Australian Masters rotating around the Sandbelt courses being held at Kingston Heath, I was in town and noticed that Yarra Yarra Golf Club was holding an open day. As a part of my original goal of playing the Melbourne Sandbelt courses, this was an opportunity not to miss. Unfortunately I played this before embarking on my Top 100 adventure. Due to this no photos were taken of the course.
Course map of the Yarra Yarra Golf Club
The club was established in 1898 with a nine hole course at Eaglemont and known as Eaglemont Golf Club. With the city expanding an housing encroaching on the course, it was decided the club should relocate, with Rosanna being chosen in 1911, at which point the club was renamed to Yarra Yarra Golf Club. In 1927 another move to the current site at East Bentleigh was made due to further city expansion.
Yarra Yarra Golf Club scorecard
I hope to return to Yarra Yarra Golf Club at some stage to document the course.
