Half way through the Masters 2016 tournament and how eventful it has been already. The Masters usually has dramatic moments on the last day, but we have managed to find some this year on the first two days.
Some of the highlights so far:
- Jordan Speith has had the lead on both days, but scored his first round over par in The Masters ever on day 2
- Jason Day got off to a flying start, looking to overtake Speith on day 1, but ran into trouble from 15 to drop 5 shots
- Poor Ernie was one of the ten most talked about topics on Twitter with his putting (all forgotten on day 2) and only just missed the cut
- Bryson DeChambeau was looking to have the best round of day 2 before having a quadruple bogey on 18 to finish even par. Can he recover and maybe become the first amateur to ever win a green jacket?
- The two most talked about Australians and favourites, Adam Scott and Jason Day are struggling to fire. Scott is at +4 and Day +1
- Big names missing the cut at +7 have been Phil Mickelson, Marc Leishman, Zac Johnson and Ricky Fowler
- Tom Watson plays his last Masters, missing the cut but almost holing a great birdie on 18
Watson playing the 15th in 2011
So what can we expect on day 3?
- High winds have made the course the toughest in years. Calls for easy pin placements as it continues on Saturday
- Speith and McIlroy to be in the last pair Saturday, in what could become a match play duel
- Hopefully the Aussies to make a charge on moving day
Here is looking to a great final two days, where hopefully Jason Day can chase down the pack to win his first green jacket.
