Life Changes
Welcome back to the new Aussie Golf Quest site. There has been a few issues over the last year, not playing much golf, the old site not being updated, moving cities (now based in Melbourne). This has lead to a few changes in my life obviously and time has been a bit of a constraint. It has also now left me clubless (not a member of an official bricks and mortar club), which might work well for the next year or so as I aim to get out to as many different courses as possible. But I now endeavour to get back into the quest at a rapid pace. A former work colleague is also travelling with me to some of these courses, so expect to see his face a little bit during this journey.
Website
Hopefully you have noticed some differences to the site. We have moved with the times and now have a fully responsive website so you can even track the progress from your smartphone. Some further changes are still to come which will make this bigger and better than before. Some content is still being transitioned but hopefully you find this site much easier to use. If you have any feedback please don’t hesitate to let me know.
Top 100 Progress
As of this week I have played 60 of the Australian Golf Digest Top 100 golf courses. I am almost two-thirds of the way there. The aim for this year is to now reach the 75 mark, predominantly these will be Victorian clubs, a little ambitious, but we have to aim for something.
Also this week saw me complete the idea which started all this off. I have now completed all the of Melbourne Sandbelt courses, having played Royal Melbourne Golf Club East Course. It was a great way to finish this aspect of the quest off. Seems so long ago when I first thought about started now.
My aim is now to complete the Top 100 Golf quest by the end of 2018 at the latest which seems realistic, although there are still a couple of clubs which will be a challenge.
I am also now keeping track of the lists from Golf Australia Top 100, including the Public Access courses. I have already completed 40 from that, but these are side projects.
