Going to Adelaide for a bucks night, I thought it essential to ensure I got a few games of golf in. I had yet to play any top 100 Australian golf courses there, so took the opportunity to play all five, starting with Glenelg Golf Club.
Port Fairy Golf Links
Second stage to the weekend away along the Great Ocean Road, involved a visit to Port Fairy Golf Club. After a false start to get there a few months before, I was glad to finally make it after the four hour journey to this top 100 Australian golf course.
Coins, Chips, Golf Sticks
Have you ever had a situation where your watching your ball make its way to the hole, only to see a big deviation away? I’m not talking by spike marks or small stones, but your playing partners ball marker.
Thirteenth Beach Golf Links – Beach Course
Starting my weekend away west of Melbourne, saw a visit to one of the great links courses in the Barwon Heads region, Thirteenth Beach Golf Links Beach Course.
Eynesbury Golf Club
Travelling west of Melbourne again into the country, but this time not alone with regular playing partner James was accompanying me, Eynesbury Golf Club was the destination to tick sixty seven courses off the top one hundred list.
Presidents Cup 2015
It’s that time of the year again, where the USA will take on someone in the World in match play events. This time its the Presidents Cup.
Newcastle Golf Club
Playing the second leg of my weekend away, took me to a Top 100 course which can only be described as a hidden gem. A friend I had played with at NSW mentioned Newcastle Golf Club was just as good if not better than his home club. It certainly gives it some competition.
The Golf Snob – Part 2
Now I mentioned previously how my wife had referred to me as ‘The Golf Snob’, this got me thinking about the debate of what golfers should be allowed to wear on the course. How dress regulations were driving people away.
Bethpage State Park Black Course
Bethpage Black – Former host to two US Opens, site of The Barclays in the 2012 Fed Ex Cup, future site for the PGA Championship and a public course to boot. On my bucket list, so without hesitation I found myself teeing up on this Top 100 golf course.
Elanora Country Club
Elanora Country Club, located high in the hills along the Northern Beaches of Sydney, was one of only two clubs left for me to play in my former home town. It turned out to be a gem.
