Golf Australia Magazine Top 100 Complete

Managing to play at Curlewis Golf Club recently, this saw the 2014 and 2016 Golf Australia Magazine Top 100 lists completed. Never one of my intended goals, but having played so many of the courses during my efforts for the Golf Digest list, it seemed a natural progression.

However, it was a very subdued experience, when compared to playing Cape Wickham in 2017, seeing the completion of the 2016 Australian Golf Digest list. I was also not in much of a hurry to play Curlewis, since Luke, my playing partner, had continually mentioned he was not a fan of the course. Seems like he had not played the revamped layout and was pleasantly surprised on returning.

This has re-invigorated me to carry on completing further Golf Australia Magazine top 100 lists. Outstanding are the 2012 list (3 courses remaining), 2018 (1 remaining) and 2020 list (4 remaining). Some of these are revisits to courses that have had major reworks, like Concord and Royal Canberra. The achievement feels more exhilarating when the current top 100 is completed though. Hopefully I can find that same enjoyment for the 2022 list which will come out later this year.
