Merry Christmas 2016. Can’t believe how fast each year travels. Seems the older we get, the faster it goes. Where are the days, when as a young boy, time seemed to go so slowly.
So what did Santa bring? Were you lucky enough to find a plethora of golfing gadgets in your stocking or under the tree. Certainly technology is becoming a larger aspect in the industry. I remember when there was some chunky GPS units where you would load courses on manually. Those days are far gone, with either your mobile phone being used or even a smaller wrist type version, with no more manual downloads. It uses the GPS to work out which course you are on. My preference is for a laser range finder, but not so useful if you are obstructed with vision or on the wrong fairway.
I was lucky enough to receive an early Christmas present, winning two dozen Mizuno golf balls, in a Golf Australia Magazine competition. Must have been a lucky year as I also won a Titliest tour bag earlier in the year at Spring Valley Golf Club during a competition, although did have to play well to get that.
Santa brought me however, a hickory putter made by Ross Baker Golf, an aspect of the game I am becoming a lot more interested in. Have to go out and play with a set of hickories soon. Plus a nice 5 pound note featuring the greatest player of all time Jack Nicklaus. Santa must know me really well to find these things that I really like 🙂
Hope you all have a great Christmas with loved ones and enjoy the festive season.
