Kingston Heath is one of eight official courses on the infamous Melbourne Sandbelt. It was first established in 1925 and had its origins from the Elsternwick Golf Club which was looking to relocate.
St Michaels Golf Club
What better way to spend a public holiday playing one of the Top 100 courses. In this case it was St Michaels Golf Club located in the Little Bay, across town. A fellow work employee (Michael) who took up the game in the last year was keen also to play a different course to his home club, so we set out to take advantage of the great weather.
Monash Country Club
I had seen a few Golf Link days advertised, but was never able to attend, for one reason or another. Finally everything aligned and I was able to actually make one of the open days with an early tee off time, making it great to get in a round before work. This was also the first round of the year on a course I had yet to play on the list.
Concord Golf Club
I first played Concord Golf Course a years ago in a corporate Ambrose event, which is a great way to get onto some courses, but doesn’t quite leave you as satisfied as having taken on a course yourself, so when a group from my local club decided to play Concord Golf Club on its annual open day I couldn’t resist the temptation.
Yering Meadows Nursery Course
Yering Meadows is located in the suburb of Yering, located in Victoria’s Yarra Valley wine region. Nestled within a valley region, there are many
spectacular views available of the course and its surroundings.
Western Australian Golf Club
Making the trip to Perth to cash in on one of my birthday presents, playing one of the Top 100 courses, I decided to take advantage and play an extra course close to my hosts residence, Casa Del Como. With only two courses left to play in the city, I decided on the Western Australian Golf Club, not really knowing much about the course before the visit.
Magenta Shores Golf & Country Club
Magenta Shores was completed in 2006, aimed at being residential housing, along with a hotel resort. The course was designed by renowned Australian designer, Ross Watson. The course is located 1 ½ hours north of Sydney.
Macquarie Links International Golf Club
Taking the opportunity to catch up with some golf buddies, Aaron and Joe, before my adventure to the US Masters, we decided to play at Macquarie Links, home club to one of the group. This helped another motive to have pictures of the course on the website.
NSW Golf Club
NSW Golf Club is located in La Perouse, on the northern head of Botany Bay. This site overlooks the landing spot of Captain Cook in 1770 on the southern headland. This is a great links course which should not be missed.
Narooma Golf Club
In a bid for 2011 to finish playing most of the Top 100 courses in NSW, Narooma was next to cross of the list. Packing the family, my wife and two dogs we set off for the long trip south. Narooma is located around 5 hours south of Sydney on the coastline.
