After reading some good reviews about the Moonah Links Legends Course, Melbourne compatriot James and I went south to the Mornington Peninsula to check it out.
RACV Royal Pines Resort Aroona Binnowee
Having played the old RACV Royal Pines Resort layout in 2013, I was looking forward to seeing the latest changes to bring this course back into the Top 100 Golf list for myself.
RACV Royal Pines Aroona Binnowee Course (Old)
The final round for my Gold Coast week was being held at RACV Royal Pines Resort Aroona Binnowee course, previously in the Top 100 Golf back in 2008. This would be where the weeks winner would be decided.
Riverside Oaks Golf Resort Bungool Course
Heading out to the wild west, to play a new entry into the Top 100 Golf list, was the fairly new Bungool course at Riverside Oaks Golf Resort. Completed in 2014, this made history becoming Sydney’s first 36 hole club.
Brookwater Golf & Country Club
The journey was made north to tackle a Top 100 Golf course voted numerous times to be the best in Queensland. A trip through some great natural beauty has been created by Greg Norman and Bob Harrison.
Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club
When I first heard of the first Greg Norman and Bob Harrison designed course in the Sydney metro area being built at Stonecutters Ridge, I was excited. After being opened it was obvious this would join the Top 100 Golf list rankings sooner rather than later.
Pacific Dunes Golf Club
With my wife away, I decided it a great time to go up the Central Coast of NSW for a father son weekend away, taking in another Top 100 Golf Course at Pacific Dunes Golf Club.
Thirteenth Beach Golf Links – Creek Course
The final Top 100 golf course to be played south west of Melbourne was Thirteenth Beach Golf Links Creek course, located on the Bellarine Peninsula. That was my third stop on the April crusade.
Barwon Heads Golf Club
Travelling down to the Bellarine Peninsula as a part of my April crusade, one Top 100 golf course each weekend, saw a visit to one of the best courses in the area, Barwon Heads Golf Club.
Waterford Valley Golf
Needing a change in scenery I decided to head out east and play Waterford Valley Golf. Eight years ago was the last and only time I had played the course. Now with the inclusion of trying to complete the Top 100 Australian public golf courses, it was well overdue for a return visit.
