Port Fairy Golf Links

Second stage to the weekend away along the Great Ocean Road, involved a visit to Port Fairy Golf Club. After a false start to get there a few months before, I was glad to finally make it after the four hour journey to this top 100 Australian golf course.

Travelling west of Melbourne again into the country, but this time not alone with regular playing partner James was accompanying me, Eynesbury Golf Club was the destination to tick sixty seven courses off the top one hundred list.

Newcastle Golf Club

Playing the second leg of my weekend away, took me to a Top 100 course which can only be described as a hidden gem. A friend I had played with at NSW mentioned Newcastle Golf Club was just as good if not better than his home club. It certainly gives it some competition.

Bethpage State Park Black Course

Bethpage Black – Former host to two US Opens, site of The Barclays in the 2012 Fed Ex Cup, future site for the PGA Championship and a public course to boot. On my bucket list, so without hesitation I found myself teeing up on this Top 100 golf course.

The Links Kennedy Bay

The Links Kennedy Bay would have to be one of the best seaside links in Australia. Certainly giving a feel as if you were in the United Kingdom playing on some of the older courses in the World.

Making the trip to Tassie, it would be unforgivable to not sneak a game in at one of the countries best public courses, Barnbougle Lost Farm. The rise of this course to near top of the rankings has been dramatic.

Portsea Golf Club

In an effort to get my quest to play Australia’s top 100 golf courses on track again, playing Portsea Golf Club, one of the oldest in the region, worked well with a weekend trip away which had been planned to the Mornington Peninsula.
