RACV Cape Schanck designed by Robert Trent Jones Jnr, is a great public access course in the Mornington Peninsula. One of my favourite courses in Australia was right next door, The National Golf Club Old Course, by the same designer.
Hamilton Island Golf Club
Hamilton Island golf course would have to be described as a great club located in paradise. Located off the Northern Queensland coast, the weather is tropical with high humidity, but ideal to get outside for a game, then hit the bar at the pool.
The Dunes Golf Links
The Dunes Golf Links is located on the Mornington Peninsula. One of the many great courses in the ‘Cups’ region, this is a true style links course, built over sandy dunes.
Bonville Golf Resort
I’ve thought about making the trip to Bonville Golf Resort for a few years now. Known as the Augusta National of Australia, why wouldn’t you be keen to play there.
St Michaels Golf Club
What better way to spend a public holiday playing one of the Top 100 courses. In this case it was St Michaels Golf Club located in the Little Bay, across town. A fellow work employee (Michael) who took up the game in the last year was keen also to play a different course to his home club, so we set out to take advantage of the great weather.
Moonah Links Open Course
Catching up with my Melbourne compatriot James, we decided to head down south to the Mornington Peninsula and play the second course at Moonah Links, the Open Course. We had been down in September to play the Legends Course and had been extremely impressed with the layout.
Yering Meadows Nursery Course
Yering Meadows is located in the suburb of Yering, located in Victoria’s Yarra Valley wine region. Nestled within a valley region, there are many
spectacular views available of the course and its surroundings.
St Andrews Beach
St Andrews Beach Golf Club was my first experience of golf in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula and was certainly memorable. Located around one and a half hours from Melbourne, the club is located in “the Cups” region and is not far from Gunnamatta Beach.
Joondalup Resort (Quarry/Dune)
Joondalup Resort is located 25 minutes north of Perth and would have to be one of the most spectacular courses I have been to. The 27 hole golf course is made up into three distinct nines, each taking on the name of its characteristic feature.
Macquarie Links International Golf Club
Taking the opportunity to catch up with some golf buddies, Aaron and Joe, before my adventure to the US Masters, we decided to play at Macquarie Links, home club to one of the group. This helped another motive to have pictures of the course on the website.
